Potty Trained?

Sierra's potty training is going well. The dogs are kind enough to show her all the good places to pee.

Sierra and Mufasa watch the game

Sierra (in the cheerleader outfit) and Mufasa (the lion) watching the game. The Vandals lost narrowly, 20-28, to the San Jose Spartans, however fun was had by both Sierra and Mufasa.

Sierra's first home game

Sierra's first home game, originally uploaded by DPOB.

This was Sierra's first home game, as well as first win. We have season tickets to the UI Vandals. I love the Vandals, went there for school, but they have not been good. They have competed well with everyone they played this year, but they somehow find a way to lose. The first pass of the game yesterday was returned for a TD (UI-La Tech). The Vandals took the lead in the 3rd qtr, but gave up a TD in the 4th to go behind 16-22. While holding the Bulldogs to a very long field goal attempt, on 4th and short they gave up a first down by having 12 men on the field. It wasn't even a 12 men ticky-tack (player not off the field yet) call -- they actually had an extra D-lineman lined up ready to play. I guess that is a great way to block a kick. That was pretty dissappointing.

We play BSU on the 17th in Boise. I don't understand the appeal of the blue field, other than an assistance in an optical illusion. With their uniforms being the same color as the field, very efficient QBs have problems playing there. At least we don't have the problem of having a very efficient QB. Enderle was 16/48 yesterday.

Pink's Little Bit 'o Heaven

Pink's Little Bit 'o Heaven, originally uploaded by DPOB.

Sometimes it is the little things. A while ago, I was watching "Hotdog Havens" on the travel channel, and they featured "Pink's" in Hollywood. It (supposedly) was a favorite among celebrities, as it was convenient to the studios, and cheap for struggling actors. Most continued to go there after they "made it" because (as you can see) they have some pretty tasty food! I guess, Bruce Willis proposed to Demi Moore there.

On the left is the "Martha Stewart" which has sauerkraut, sour cream, tomatoes and bacon. The one on the right is a bacon-chili dog, stretched (10 inch dog instead of 8) with sour cream. Most everything I saw was close to perfection. Probably the most amazing aspect was that the hot dogs were "to go" and were wrapped in paper and foil. They were surprisingly easy to eat without making a big mess. I was in such a euphoric state that I forgot to order any side dish, (fries, rings or tots) so I had to eat again soon after.

If only they offered a deep fried version.....

Tailgate

Tailgate, originally uploaded by DPOB.

It was recently pointed out that there was no football, and that television was a big part of my life (I can't respond to comments on my phone, I have to create another post). Response? It is a well known fact that more than half the content on network tv is directed at solely me. My programming of choice, however, is football (and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia).

I watched my first game of the year, and most of the watching was pausing on crowd shots to see if I could find Chris, Ray, Nikki, Heatha & Rob (Pendergrast), who went to the game in newly named Bill Walsh Stadium. Rob, Nikki & Chris are 49er fans, while Ray (and myself) are Denver fans. Heatha lives in SF, so we can assume her allegiance lies there. I have seen her in a 49er jersey, however it was Shane's, one of her exes. She grew up near Seattle, so she may have a little hawk influence as well. She did go to WSU during Ryan Leaf's tenure, so she may not like FB at all.... This is a picture of their tailgte....

Weeding

I would like to thank my neice, Julia, for the excellent job helping me to weed the area by my storage shed. The area (just rototilled) was a huge area of weeds. Under the guise of seeing Sierra, she came over after breakfast a few weeks ago, and I put her to work. She was a great help, albeit easily distracted by shiny things.
